Client Intervention and Assistance
Client Intervention and Assistance (CIA) is a service aimed at helping individuals cope with the daily demands of independent living in the community. It is an organized process that consists of assessment, planning, monitoring, reassessment, and evaluation. CIA helps indivudals define the problem and establish the appropriate linkages, create an understanding of what is going on and help prioritize the problem to establish a starting point as well as a plan of action.
Who Needs CIA?
- People who are involved in complex care situations that require an organized, timely and timed approach to ensure resolution
- Elderly people who do not have an advocate or who cannot advocate for themselves, or choose not to use an existing advocate
- Adult children who do not live in the same city as their aging parents who require a single point of access to coordinate and implement a care plan
- Adult children looking for direction in navigating the Canadian healthcare system for their aging parents
- People looking to plan for the future; what to expect and how to plan for it
