Friendly Visiting | Telephone Reassurance
Trained volunteers are matched with seniors and disabled adults who are socially isolated. Visits typically last an hour, but may be more or less, given the circumstances. Volunteers provide a personal, continuous one-to-one relationship with seniors or disabled adults at their residence.
Duties
- Provide support through friendship
- Arrange in advance for a suitable time to visit
- Be punctual and dependable for each visit
- Give brief bi-monthly verbal progress reports to the Coordinator
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
- Report promptly any problems or concerns to the Coordinator
- Take the client on short outings, as agreed upon by the Coordinator

Trained volunteers provide a daily telephone security check and befriend isolated, homebound seniors and disabled adults.
Duties
- Arrange time in advance a sutiable time to telephone the client
- Keep track of the time spent phoning the client
- Provide a brief monthly verbal progress report to the Coordinator
- Attend orientation, in-service education and support groups whever possible
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
- Report promptly any problems or concerns to the Coordinator
